Dragon Ball FighterZ Pre-Order Details

by Bryan Dawson

With the release of the Gamescom 2017 trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ (see below), Bandai Namco has also released pre-order information. We also now have an official date for the game as well. While Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, as well as Android 16 and 18 were confirmed via V-Jump magazine, the Gamescom trailer revealed even more information and showed them in action. Let’s take a look at what we know about Dragon Ball FighterZ pre-order bonuses and more info on the Androids and the new retail window.

Pre-Order Details

Dragon Ball FighterZ Pre-Order Bonus

Anyone who pre-orders Dragon Ball FighterZ will gain access to an open beta starting January 14, 2018 and early access to that beta. While previously Bandai Namco confirmed an early 2018 time frame for the game, we now know that the game will release in North America on January 26, 2018 and in Japan on February 1, 2018.

In addition pre-orders will grant “early unlocks” for Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta. The wording on this is a little strange, but this means the characters are unlockable in the game, but will be instantly unlocked if you pre-order the title. Pre-orders will also get two exclusive lobby avatars to use when waiting for games in the online modes. While the two avatars were not officially revealed, the trailer indicates they are most like Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta. We’ll be sure to update this story once that information is confirmed from Bandai Namco.

New Android Information

The new trailer shows off our first look at gameplay for Piccolo, Krillin, Android 16 and Android 18. While there was still hope Android 17 would be a separate character down the line (and he may still come later or get announced as DLC), it’s very clear in the trailer above that Android 17 is more like an assist for Android 18 in his present form. Android 17’s shield assist is clearly seen, and he shows up in multiple attacks for Android 18.

You can also see some story mode scenes in the trailer above, so be sure to check it out for all of the details. Stay tuned to Prima Games for more beta information, as well as detailed info on each character coming soon to our Dragon Ball FighterZ game hub.
