Dr Stone Season 2 Renewal Confirmed

by Ginny Woo

Those who consider themselves huge fans of the hottest science anime on the block will be pleased to learn that a Dr Stone Season 2 renewal has officially been confirmed recently. The final episode of the current season told us that there would be more in store, and while we aren’t sure when to expect it quite yet, we do know a little about what’s next.

Dr Stone Season 2 Renewal Confirmed

The first season of Dr Stone ran for a total of 24 episodes this year, and it was teased by the Shonen Jump serialization in the latest issue that something noteworthy was currently in the works for Dr Stone. Well, as per expectations that it would be a renewal announcement of the anime, we’re definitely far from disappointed because of the news.

While Season 1 was a great introduction to the topsy-turvy world inhabited by the characters of Dr Stone and how the power of science can bring about transformative change. A bit like a jaunt through re-living the industrial ages but with incredibly stylized anime boys, we found that the anime was a huge breath of fresh air when it came to reimagining the common trope of survivors getting along at the end of the world, and we’re excited to see what’s next judging by the trailer above.

It looks like this next season is going to tackle the Stone Wars story arc from the manga, which was kicked off in earlier episodes of Season 1 of the Dr Stone anime and will be followed by the Source of the Petrification arc which should give us more of an idea of some of the mysteries around the state of the world. If you’re just as excited as we are for the confirmation of the Dr Stone Season 2 renewal, why not give us a yell on Twitter at @PrimaGames? Ginny hails from just south of Mordor, and when she's not debating others about the One Ring then she's probably glued to an MMO or a JRPG. With Final Fantasy XIV, Destiny 2, and World of Warcraft on her plate, she's always got something to chat about and a sneaky guide up her sleeve. If writing's not on the cards, then she's probably drinking way too much coffee.
