Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game Blows Through Crowdfunding Goal

by Liana Ruppert

RPG fans were able to bag themselves a hot skeleton in Divinity Original Sin 2, and now tabletop fans can get on the boneage (what?) because an adaptation off of the Divinity universe is coming to homes everywhere in the form of a newly revealed board game from Larian Studios.

At the time this article was written, the total amount of pledges amounted to nearly $442,000, which blows right through the target goal of $160,000. Ready to see what it’s all about? Check out the hilarious reveal trailer below:

According to Larian Studios, “Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game is an epic adventure game set in the world of Rivellon,” reads the official Kickstarter page. “Up to 4 players take their heroes on a branching, narrative adventure, filled with tactical combat and meaningful choices. Thanks to the Chronicle System, the choices you make will impact not just your own story, but the future of the Divinity Original Sin universe. Based on the award-winning Divinity Original Sin II video game by Larian Studios, the board game developed by Lynnvander Studios expands Divinity in new directions, adding new stories, side quests, skills, items, and monsters, all in a brand new tabletop experience.”

As someone who has triple-dipped each video game in this franchise, this new tabletop adventure looks worth it. This RPG has all of the elements that Dungeons & Dragons players crave and is one of the top RPG experiences in the last few years.

The official kickstarter is now live with numerous pledge rewards to enjoy. Ready to toss in your support? Check out the page listing right here to see all of the exclusive rewards for those that help to make this a reality! The game is expected to release in October 2020.
