So far, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has only been available on PC since its release in September 2017. According to a statement on the PlayStation Blog, the decision to bring Divinity: Original Sin 2 to consoles arose as a response to persistent fans requests.

“Since that release, we’ve been inundated by letters and comments asking us to bring Divinity: Original Sin 2 to PlayStation 4,” said Michael Douse, Director of Publishing at Larian Studios. “We heard those requests loud and clear, and we’re very excited that it’s finally happening.”

Divinity: Original Sin 2 features a massive world that rewards players for their creativity. Like a digital version of Dungeons and Dragons, Divinity: Original Sin 2 allows players to command a party of fascinating characters who wield an assortment of skills and magical capabilities. Players can tackle situations how they see fit, ultimately shaping and impacting their journey ahead with the choices they make.

According to Douse, bringing Divinity: Original Sin 2 to consoles gives the development team the chance to implement some much-needed tweaks and adjustments. There’s no word on what these improvements entail just yet.

Like its predecessor, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be tailored to the console experience. The move to consoles also means that fans will be able enjoy true couch co-op on Divinity: Original Sin 2 without having to configure a co-op setup on PC.

We’ll be sure to keep you informed of any new information on Divinity: Original Sin 2’s console transition as details are revealed. Until then, mark your calendars for August and be sure to check out some of our Divinity: Original Sin 2 guides to prepare for the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
