When you think of Legend of Zelda, Destiny 2 isn't even in the top 100 things that come to mind.

When you think of Legend of Zelda, Destiny 2 isn’t even in the top 100 things that come to mind, yet the iconic Nintendo staple had a key role as inspiration for a mission that many loved in Season of Arrivals.

Bungie developer Tom Farnsworth recently confirmed that the Corridors of Time mission was heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda; more specifically, the lost woods. The Corridors of Time mission definitely felt unique in Season of Arrivals, blending an ethereal/dreamlike experience with some pesky puzzles.

Farnsworth took to his Twitter account to share the correlation between the two franchises, staying that “the inspiration behind the Corridors of Time in the Season of Dawn was the Lost Woods from Zelda.” Now that we see it, we can’t unsee it.

This particular area was also used for a story branch in Season of Dawn, entreating Guardians to journey through various times within the game’s base lore in a heroic effort to save Saint-14 from a gruesome death.

Destiny has drawn inspiration from various other games and ever since the studio split from Activision, Bungie has taken more creative leaps in terms of where they want to go with their story. Since then, the game has gotten much darker and has taken Guardians to places we weren’t expecting. With at least three more years of content planned, it will be interesting to see what other games influence this shooter’s future.

Personally, I am a huge Destiny 2 fan and I remember that happy little time when Corridors first launched and the community as a whole banded together to solve the puzzle. It was really tricky and was absolutely a team effort that required patience and a very astute attention to detail. Honestly, it was good times and it was this event that helped me find my perfect guild.
