Cross-platform play has been a huge cause of talk in the gaming community, but Epic Games’ Fortnite really pushed for studios and platforms to readjust their viewpoints on letting players play together regardless of system. Now that the monster-slaying adventure known as Dauntless is available on consoles and PC, it’s made even better by launching with cross-play in mind.
Dauntless players can play with any differing platform while still keeping their own progress, something that is becoming increasingly common – and for good reason. Though still not available on Nintendo Switch, the ability to break that barrier between platforms is a huge push for the gaming industry and is even bleeding into what the next generation might look like.
Now that Microsoft and Sony both have announced their partnership, the distance between platforms is growing smaller and hopefully will promote a healthier community for all. Plus, Dauntless is just awesome. It’s a really fun monster-slaying game that’s made even better by playing with people you enjoy hanging out with.
