Today, Red Hook Studios graced us with hope in a despair-filled world by releasing a Darkest Dungeon 2 teaser trailer. It’s a game all about diving into a dungeon to complete quests for those unfamiliar with Darkest Dungeon, but survival is rarely achievable.

Your party often succumbs to copious amounts of stress and hunger, as each mission is more difficult and brutal than the last. It seems that Darkest Dungeon 2 will follow suit with the brutality and fear of the first game.

Of course, this is only a teaser trailer, but it does tell us that Darkest Dungeon 2 will enter early access in 2021 on the Epic Games Store.

You can watch the small teaser trailer below, but be warned; it’s not for the faint of heart.

The teaser also seems to show off a slightly new art-style for the game. The original Darkest Dungeon has a much more 2d hand-drawn style, while the teaser implies that things might take on a more three-dimensional cell-shaded look.

Either way, we can’t wait for more Darkest Dungeon, because well, maybe we’re all a bit masochistic in our own way.

Darkest Dungeon is a challenging game that is filled with different systems to manage. If you’re a fan of RPGs with permadeath and edge of your set battles, this game is worth checking out for sure.

So now it’s time to go play a bunch of Darkest Dungeon and its subsequent expansions to get prepped for whatever horrible things will come our way in the sequel.

If you want to stay up to date with the game, you can find the Epic Games Store page here. That’s an excellent place to check up on for the latest news and information about the game.
