Cyberpunk 2077 Offers New Look at the Badlands and Heywood

Cyberpunk 2077 will offer a ton of locations to explore, but let's look a little more closely at both the Badlands and Heywood!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

While we do have to wait a little bit longer for Cyberpunk 2077 that was initially supposed to release back in March, the team over at CD Projekt RED have been doing an amazing job at keeping fans interested and excited. The team’s latest sneak peek into the upcoming RPG adventure offers a little more insight both into the Badlands and Heywood

First up, the Badlands. We’ve learned about the Badlands earlier this year, with some actual gameplay from this area in Night City back in June. According to CD Projekt RED, “Sparsely populated by Nomads, the Badlands are the vast plains outside of the city proper. Unchecked resource extraction, burning oil fields, rampant pollution; this district makes Night City feel like a rich oasis. But it holds golden opportunities for those in the know.”

While giving off serious Rage vibes, this area may look like a warzone but it holds infinite possibilities for V and friends looking to make a name for themselves in the criminal underground. Heywood, on the other hand, takes an entirely different direction with its modernized architecture, looming skyscrapers, and thriving nightlife:

“Heywood is a neighborhood of contrast—from modern skyscrapers and parks in the north, to dangerous, inhospitable slums in the south,” reads the studio’s intro into this particular area of the in-game world. “It’s “the biggest bedroom in Night City”, where gangs like Valentinos and 6th Street get down to business—legal and illegal alike.”

We’ll be able to explore these areas and so many more when Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City becomes available to all later this year. It’s been an incredibly long road for this game and it’s launch and despite numerous setbacks and a global pandemic, the team has kept hard at work to ensure that this RPG is damn-near perfect.

The new release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is November 19th. You can learn more about the journey up until this point with our game hub here, as well as on Twitter @PrimaGames for more Cyberpunk 2077 goodness and gaming news.
