One of the quirkiest games of this generation is Deadly Premonition, a game that tells a rather strange yet creepy detective tale, while presenting the kind of quirks that you don’t normally see in a video game experience. I guess that’s what makes it so good, despite its questionable production value. But up until this point, it seems only Xbox 360 owners could enjoy it. But look out PlayStation 3 owners – it’s your turn!
Rising Star Games has announced that it is bringing Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut to the PlayStation 3. The game will feature “updated controls” that won’t be as strugglesome as they are over on the Xbox 360, as well as new scenarios from director Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro and additional download content.
“Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is both a love letter to fans that supported the game and a great update for new players,” stated Rising Star Games product marketing manager Yen Hau. “With the enhancements and new content, the team is confident that old players will re-experience Deadly Premonition the way it was intended to be, and that new players will discover a narrative experience unlike any other game.”
A release date hasn’t been revealed, but early 2013 is looking most likely. Look for a weird preview soon! (And we mean that in a good way.)
