Control Ultimate Edition Delayed To 2021

Sounds like they lost control.

A few months ago Remedy Entertainment announced the Control Ultimate Edition. Like most games do eventually, the Ultimate Edition includes both of the games DLC content, which is pretty common practice for games.

Control Ultimate Edition Delayed To 2021

There was a bit of controversy when it was first announced because the Ultimate edition is the only way to play an enhanced version of the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

If you own control on a current-generation console and try to play it on next-gen, it won’t support enhanced features unless it’s the Ultimate edition.

This angered a lot of fans who already own Control. However, the news today is that this version of the game will be delayed until 2021. In a Tweet from remedy Entertainment, which can be seen below, the team just needs more time.

“An update from the development team: Control Ultimate Edition will arrive on next generation platforms early 2021. We want the final quality of the game to be awesome, and so we need a bit more time to work on it. Thank you for your understanding and patience”

Control won numerous awards and accolades when it released in 2019. If you haven’t had the chance to experience the game, you should definitely wait for the Ultimate Edition, because it didn’t run great on the base PS4 and Xbox, so hopefully, the Ultimate edition can fix a lot of those problems.

Maybe by 2021, the policy on the free upgrade for Control will change and players who already purchased the game will be able to join in on the fun. It still remains to be seen, but we can be optimistic.
