For years, Codemasters has been mastering the art of rally racing with its exciting DiRT games, but before it transformed into that franchise, it was simply known as Colin McRae Rally.

Now the classic fun of Colin McRae Rally is making a return, this time on the mobile front.  Codemasters confirmed today that the racing franchise will debut for iPhone and iPad devices starting tomorrow, June 27th, for a very reasonable price of $4.99.

The game is based on Colin McRae Rally 2.0, which originally released in 2000 for Windows PC and PlayStation.  It will feature 30 different rally courses that take you on a whirlwind tour, starting with Australia and eventually ending up in Greece.  You'll be able to choose from a variety of cars, such as the Mitsubishi Evo VI and the Lancia Stratos, among others.  You can also unlock Achievements through GameCenter and compete with others through leaderboards, all while attempting to win Championship events. Sounds like fun to us.

If you like racing games, go ahead and clear up some hard drive space.  Colin McRae Rally is worth the ride.
