‘Ol Cliffy B made magic with the first three Gears of War games and it looks like he’s teeming with new ideas for what Microsoft could do with Gears of War 6. For those that may not know about the Cliffy B, he’s been a paramount part of gaming for a long time now but took a hiatus from the scene following his launch and closure of Lawbreakers. But you can’t take the genius out of someone and he’s brimming with ideas and is offering those ideas once more up to the team over at Microsoft.
“Offer still stands to consult on the Gears franchise, Microsoft,” said Bleszinski in a recent tweet. “Your move,” he added with a saucy little GIF because come on, it’s Cliff!

Even if I gave 3 pages of notes on the Gears 6 take I’d wager the perception around the community would be lovely.

For those that don’t know, acting as a consultant doesn’t equate to a full-time position, something that Bleszinski mentioned in reply to IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey. He added, “[Chalk] that up with not understanding NDAs, IP ownership, PR marketing, P&L, margins, you know, the usual,” he responded when talking about the difference between working full-time as a dev versus a consulting position.
With so many of his ideas “on the cutting room floor,” it would be interesting to see what he has on his mind in terms of the future of the franchise. The Gears series has taken massive turns through the years, it would be great to have one of the original voices back on the scene to keep this franchise alive and flourishing.
