Chris Avellone Dishes Out Respect to KOTOR2 Restoration Crew

Lead designer impressed by mod

Chris Avellone, lead designer of Knights of the Old Republic 2, has commended the skills of The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (TSLRCM) team.

The voluntary team has been working on improving the quality of Knights of the Old Republic 2. The team’s main body of work is now finished, and for that, Avellone has said the team deserves “a lot of kudos”.

“I have a lot of respect to TSLRCM for restoring the content, and I’m glad it can see the light of day,” said Obsidian’s Avellone.

“There was a lot more that we wanted to include in the title, obviously, and the restoration mod should prove it.

“Those guys should be given a lot of kudos for their hard work, so for anyone who plays the restored content and enjoys it, let other fans know and give credit where credit is due: to TSLRCM.”

The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod was formed from the ashes of the Sith Lords Restoration Project. Both the projects were formed to fix the many bugs of Knights of the Old Republic 2 and finish off the incomplete sections the original devs at Obsidian were unable to finish.

While there are plans to integrate and finish M4-78, the Droids’ Planet, the main body of work is now complete (more over at PC Gamer). The bug fix list is mahoosive if you fancy some light reading, there’s also a record of the content that never made it to the game proper but was actually on the disc.

The mod team members go by the names Zbyl2, DarthStoney, Hassat Hunter and VarsityPuppet.

If you wanna get your filthy mitts on the mod it’s over at Mod DB.

Obsidian built Knights of the Old Republic 2 in just over a year, which should explain its bugs really. It’s well worth a look-in if you’ve never had the chance and can be picked up as part of a double pack with its predecessor over at Amazon.
