Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo Lets You Carry Your Progress Into the Full Game
Demos are officially back.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse arrives in October, alongside a packed release month with tons of major games. Today, Konami and Evil Empire announced that a demo will go live on October 1, 2026, giving players a taste of the upcoming release and supporting progress carryover to the full game.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo
The demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 1, 2026, and includes the opening chapter of the upcoming title. All progress made during the demo will carry over to the full release coming October 15, 2026. It’s coming to PC via Steam, Xbox Series S|X, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

The Switch version runs at 30 FPS, while the other versions run at 60 FPS. To ensure your progress carries over, play the demo on the same platform you’ll use for the full release. Also, make sure the save data isn’t deleted.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo Size
| Platform | Demo Size |

| PC (Steam) | 4 GB |

| Xbox Series S|X | 5 GB |
| Nintendo Switch | 3 GB |
Supported Languages: Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Korean.
This demo should give players a good look at what to expect from the full release, and I believe it’s the same demo the team showed at Gamescom, which received positive reception across the board. I’m glad demos have made a sort of comeback recently, with many publishers open to releasing them across all platforms ahead of release.
What about Nintendo Switch 2?
Konami or Evil Empire still hasn’t announced a native Nintendo Switch 2 version of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, and the official demo announcement doesn’t mention one either. Unless a Switch 2 patch is released at launch, the game will likely run at 30 FPS on Nintendo’s newer console.

Releasing an original Switch version that runs at half the framerate of the other platforms is a bit confusing, but the native Switch 2 version could still be in the works and simply needs more time. I really hope that’s the case because the Switch 2 is a fairly performant console and a big jump from the original Switch.
You can pre-order Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse now across all platforms.
