With DuckTales: Remastered set to arrive in just a few days for Wii U and PlayStation 3 – and next month for Xbox 360 – Capcom pulled a Scrooge McDuck and sent select members of the media a nice package this week.
With only 150 in existence, the DuckTales Remastered gold cartridge pack is a rarity indeed. It comes with a lunchbox featuring Scrooge McDuck and siblings on the front, a number of inserts, including a certificate of authenticity and a “Quackety Quack!” music program guide, shredded money and best of all, a gold DuckTales cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
One would think the cartridge is just a gimmick, but from what we saw with Game Informer’s recent post, it is in fact a working version of the original DuckTales. You will need an NES to play it, obviously, but it’s a nice touch.
This package won’t be offered for sale, sadly, but it’s only a matter of time before you see one pop up on eBay. Like Scrooge, you’ll probably pay a lot for it.
Thanks to Game Informer for sharing the details.
DuckTales Remastered arrives on PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on August 13th, and on Xbox Live Arcade September 11th.
