Capcom Considering Adding More Single Player Content To Upcoming Fighting Games

Because it's not always about online competition.

One key aspect that works so well in Capcom’s fighting games is the ability to fight against others online or locally in versus-based combat.  However, some people like single player content in fighting games as well, as evidenced by packed story mode included in the just-released WB Games brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Considering that, Capcom is shifting gears a little bit with its future fighting efforts.  Capcom senior vice president Christian Svensson posted a hopeful comment in the Capcom-Unity forums, explaining that the team is looking more into single player goods, such as stronger story modes and other content.

Said Svensson, “The strategic marketing group here has for quite a while been pushing for our fighting franchises to have more and better single player content, of which full fledged story modes are one component.  How and when those requirements manifest in our future roadmap, I’m not prepared to speak about at this time.”

Hey, at least we know the content is coming.  Maybe we’ll find out more from Capcom during E3 this June.
