Today, Treyarch unleashed a new limited-time game mode for Call of Duty: Blackout called ‘Down But Not Out.’ The new mode adds a twist to Blackout’s battle royale formula by adding a new redeploy feature that allows players to stay in the fight for longer.
The squads-only Down But Not Out game mode differs from the standard Blackout mode in that it introduces respawns to Blackout’s battle royale formula. In this limited-time mode, players are able to redeploy each time the circle collapses. The only catch is that at least one squad member needs to remain alive in between each Collapse in order for their squad members to respawn.
Now live in #Blackout on PS4: Down But Not Out!

If you’re curious how the loadouts work upon respawn, Treyarch addresses that issue as well. Rather than respawning with nothing, players will redeploy with a basic loadout kit, according to the in-game description.
Down But Not Out went live for Black Ops 4 Blackout players on PlayStation 4 earlier today and will be available until January 30 at 10:00 am PT. There’s no word on whether this new mode will be headed to other platforms or not, but we’ll be sure to keep you apprised of any changes.
