Call of Duty: Black Ops II To Offer Direct-To-YouTube Clip Posting

Want to cherish that last kill forever? Now you can.
This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

It seems a lot of you these days like showing off when it comes to gameplay, thanks to the various Twitch.tv accounts that are popping up and YouTube videos making the rounds.  Not that we’re complaining – some of these are a blast to watch.  (How about that lucky tomahawk throw?!)

Now Activision will make the process even easier, that is, if you own the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II.  There’s an option in the game which will enable you to create video clips from multiplayer sessions in League Play, and then stream them to YouTube almost instantly.

You just need a verified account, and set-up with your webcam intact, and you can make it happen on your specified YouTube channel, as well as Call of Duty Elite.  We’ve tried this out at a recent event, and we have to say it’s pretty awesome.  The service also enables you to click on other users’ names and check out their stats and loadouts as well.  You can make some YouTube friends.  Hey!

Granted, there are restrictions, which Activision is likely to explain when the game releases next week.  Don’t expect to do any nude sessions, though.  Sorry, ladies.

(Please note that the services don’t apply to the Wii U or PC versions of the game.  At least, not yet.)

Call of Duty: Black Ops II hits stores November 13th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and on the 18th for the Wii U.
