Microsoft has been promoting Gears of War heavily over the past year. What began with a showing of Gears of War 4 and Ultimate Edition at E3 2015 led into the release of Ultimate Edition and the eventual Gears of War 4 Beta. Now Gears of War 4 is almost upon us and Microsoft is making the deal just a bit sweeter.

Anyone who purchases Gears of War 4 for Xbox One by December 31, 2016 will receive digital download tokens to obtain a free copy of Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment backward compatible for the Xbox One. Microsoft offered a similar promotion when Gears of War Ultimate released, but just in case you missed out on that one, you can still pick up all of the Gears games for free with the purchase of Gears of War 4. The latest Gears of War title is set to release for the Xbox One and PC on October 11.
