Remember Rage?  Id Software’s impressive first-person shooter/racing game definitely left its mark last year, though we haven’t heard anything about the proposed DLC for the game in quite some time.  But over a year after its release, it looks like we’ve finally gotten it.  Say hello to The Scorchers.

This DLC, now available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, introduces you to a pesky bandit clan known as The Scorchers, who pose an interesting challenge as you try to complete a number of new missions.  The game also includes additional weaponry, a new difficulty setting, and the ability to continue playing after the credits roll, so you can continue looting like a true hoarder would.

The content goes for $5 (400 Microsoft points), and is sure to regenerate interest in the game with its release.  After all, it’s now available for the price of $19.99, which is a fairly good deal considering its smooth frame rate, interesting mission structure and wild shooting action.  And hey, John Goodman’s in it.  John Goodman, people.  From Argo?

Rage is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.  It’s got some hefty install rates, but they’re well worth it when it comes to classic id Software action.
