Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC Available Now

The first expansion for BF4 goes live with Xbox One.

We’re not even a month into the life of Battlefield 4, and DICE is already spoiling players with the first of five planned DLC packs. Chosen by fan voting, Second Assault features four maps previously released in Battlefield 3. Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, Operation Firestorm and Operation Metro have all been modified to include new Levolution moments and slight changes to their layouts.

Operation Metro was recently explored by LevelCapGaming and looks to have undergone several very exciting changes. Outside, the grass is overgrown and can be ignited, burning until there is nothing left to burn. The subway tunnel is now flooded, and the roof can be collapsed on your opponents by taking out support beams. Near the ticket booth (B flag on Conquest) there are several new flank routes which include side stairs, hallways and the addition of elevators. Although the layout and general map design hasn’t changed, the vast number of small improvements will keep things fresh for some time to come.

In addition to the upgrades in those four fan favorite maps, players can expect five new weapons, the return of the Dune Buggy, 10 new assignments and the addition of the Capture the Flag game mode. The vehicles will be available to all players on their respective maps, but each weapon will require the completion of an assignment to unlock. We don’t want to spoil everything for you, so be sure to check out the Prima Games official Battlefield 4 eGuide for details. For now, check out the full weapon and vehicle list below.
