Who says exclusivity doesn’t pay? According to a recent report from Electronic Arts, the company’s recently announced Battlefield 3: Premium service plan is actually a hit with gamers, with over 800,000 units sold since its launch a few days ago.
In an interview with USA Today, EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund stated, “We are very pleased with the performance so far.” And he also hinted that other services could be introduced for other games down the road, such as Medal of Honor: Warfighter, set for launch on October 23.
“We’re actually only two weeks into it, so it’s a little early to tell how this is going to pay off,” said Soderlund. “It certainly looks very promising right now.”
You can sign up for Battlefield 3: Premium for $50 now, which gives you access to exclusive perks and first access to maps before they’re sold to the general public. If you’re a fan of the game, this is certainly a must.
