Battlefield 2042 Digital Editions Will All Have Free Next-Gen Upgrades

With the swap to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, many publishers have been trying to navigate how they charge for upgrade paths from last-gen to this gen. Any digital version of Battlefield 2042 that you purchase will work on both last and current-gen consoles. This makes upgrading easier and less of a headache if you didn’t purchase the Gold Edition.

If you’re still worried about which version includes what, EA has released a helpful chart showing what each of the different versions of Battlefield 2042 includes.

If you’re still on the fence about picking up Battlefield 2042 luckily there is an open beta happening this week for all players to test out. If you pre-order the game you can play the beta starting tomorrow, otherwise everyone else will have access on October 7.
