At The Game Awards 2020, a trailer for Back 4 Blood was shown. If you were watching the trailer thinking, “Huh, this looks a lot like the Left 4 Dead series” you’ll be excited to hear that yes, it’s being developed by Turtle Rock Studios, formerly Valve South. The studio was initially founded in 2002, then was acquired by Valve in 2008.
A few years later, it came back as an independent company headed by Chris Ashton and Phil Robb. Now, they’re returning to their roots with an action-packed multiplayer zombie game.
Back 4 Blood Release Date Announced At The Game Awards 2020
Initially revealed back in March of 2019, we finally have additional info and a release date for Back 4 Blood, the newest multiplayer zombie game from developer Turtle Rock Studios.
According to the trailer shown at The Game Awards 2020, Back 4 Blood will release on June 22, 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
If the combat shown has you itching to dive into the game earlier than that, a Closed Alpha will be available next week on December 17 (until December 21). To reserve your spot in the Closed Alpha, you’ll need to head over to the alpha page on the game’s official website and register to receive a code.
Note that the Closed Alpha will only be available on PC and participants will need to either have or create a WB Games Hub account. The Closed Alpha will be limited to the following regions: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
