The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a short standalone demo that takes place in the Life is Strange universe. Players take on the role of Chris, a young boy with a very active imagination. Chris goes on amazing fantastical adventures as his superhero alter-ego, Captain Spirit.

Captain Spirit is a narrative-drive experience that takes place in the Life is Strange universe. The game is developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the same team that created the original Life is Strange games as well as the recent blood-sucking RPG, Vampyr.

According to the description on the game’s Steam page, certain choices and actions are linked to your experience in Life is Strange 2, which releases in September. If you were planning on picking up the upcoming Life is Strange sequel, then it’s a good idea to prepare yourself by playing through the Captain Spirit demo first. So far, the game has received positive reception and appears to take only a couple hours to complete.

It’s also worth noting that the PlayStation version in Europe will now release at midnight local time due to a recent change. If you are in Europe and planned on playing Captain Spirit on PS4, you will have to wait until midnight local time to do so.
