The Life is Strange spinoff The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit has just launched worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Although the game is set in the same Life is Strange world, Captain Spirit differs from its predecessors in that it is entirely free to download.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a short standalone demo that takes place in the Life is Strange universe. Players take on the role of Chris, a young boy with a very active imagination. Chris goes on amazing fantastical adventures as his superhero alter-ego, Captain Spirit.
Captain Spirit is a narrative-drive experience that takes place in the Life is Strange universe. The game is developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the same team that created the original Life is Strange games as well as the recent blood-sucking RPG, Vampyr.
According to the description on the game’s Steam page, certain choices and actions are linked to your experience in Life is Strange 2, which releases in September. If you were planning on picking up the upcoming Life is Strange sequel, then it’s a good idea to prepare yourself by playing through the Captain Spirit demo first. So far, the game has received positive reception and appears to take only a couple hours to complete.
