During a financial call yesterday with various attendees, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot boasted the record number of shipments for last week’s release of Assassin’s Creed III, touting it a huge success for the company. According to the estimate, 3.5 million copies have shipped. He also specified that most of these are on sell-through, and not just flat numbers of what’s been shipped to retailers, so, yeah, it looks like the game is doing well.
On top of that, it hasn’t been entirely released across the board. Assassin’s Creed III is set for a day one release on the Wii U, and now there’s word that Ubisoft is prepping an Assassin’s Creed Anthology that includes all five games in the series, going from AC 1 all the way through this chapter. The box set supposedly includes all the downloadable content, as well as a limited edition lithograph. We’ll let you know once it’s official.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t played Assassin’s Creed III yet, you really should. It’s great fun, and available now for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
