Apex Legends Season 4 Gameplay Trailer Offers First Look At New Sniper Rifle

An explosive new Apex Legends season 4 gameplay trailer has hit the scene and shows off one seriously impressive new Sniper Rifle.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

We first met Revenant in his truly evil glory when Respawn dropped the Apex Legends season 4 launch trailer a few days ago. Now we’re seeing this killing machine in action with the brand new Apex Legends season 4 gameplay trailer and though we’ve got our first look at how he plays and new map changes, we also spotted a pretty darn cool first look at the new sniper rifle dropping tomorrow.

Sure, Revenant is the best damn assassin Syndicate has ever had but he can be even better with the Sentinel Sniper Rifle. This isn’t your mom’s Sniper (wut?), it’s a bolt-action rifle that Respawn teases has a “special charge mechanic.” What does that mean exactly? From what we know so far, it allows for players to have more customization with their shots in terms of range, speed, and impact. For those that think on their feet easily, a highly charged shot could be a total game-changer when it comes down to those last few kills.

“[The Sentinel] feels really powerful,” Apex executive produced Drew McCoy said in a recent dev stream. “It’s got that cool animation when you cock it back. It’s a little different than our other sniper rifles because it has a charge mechanic.”

If you’re like me, you always go for the Sniper option. In any kind of shooter, battle royale or not, I usually tend to gravitate towards the Sniper options in addition to MPs. The Sentinel definitely looks intriguing and with all of the massive changes seen thus far with not only World’s Edge but also to mechanics like the Battle Pass, it looks like Respawn is not messing around when it comes to 2020 being Apex’s year.

Apex Legends season 4 officially launches on February 4th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Still no Nintendo Switch news yet, though we’re keeping hope alive!
