Alan Wake Returns In Upcoming Control DLC

If there were any doubts before about these games' connection, they're gone now!

The highly anticipated return of Alan Wake is now much closer than many people might think, and while it isn’t in the form of a new installment, it will have to be good enough for the time being. Remedy Entertainment has revealed a teaser trailer for the upcoming AWE expansion for Control, and we finally get a look at the thriller novelist himself in the developer’s most recent title.

Control’s AWE expansion will be the game’s second DLC, and it will offer players with plenty of new story content, side missions, and much more to enjoy as Jesse Faden, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. The trailer itself is short, but fans may be able to recognize the voice at the beginning of the video as none other than Alan Wake’s. In case one is not able to pick up on that from the start, the end of the teaser is sure to make anyone who has played the thriller series jump with excitement. Just be sure to stay in the light.

Control features many clues and hints as to what took place in Bright Falls and what became of Alan Wake, giving players the opportunity to uncover the mystery for themselves. However, the upcoming AWE expansion will take things a step further as one of the Altered World Events Jesse will have to explore happens to be from Bright Falls. For those who are unaware, Bright Falls is the fictional Washington town that acts as the rather unsettling setting for the Alan Wake series. If you’re looking to dive deeper down the intriguing hole, there is even a live-action mini-series of the same name that is meant to be a prequel to the popular games.

Needless to say, things are about to get a whole lot weirder for Jesse, especially if Alan Wake is showing up in the world of Control, which is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As for the AWE expansion, it will be bringing all of the new experiences, weapons, and more to all platforms on August 27th. For even more Control goodness, check out our official game hub!
