Achievement Hunter: Gears of War Judgment

Need help earning all the Achievements in this anticipated prequel? We've got you covered.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Many thought that the saga of Gears of War came to a close when the third chapter released in 2011.  Epic Games had other plans, commissioning the development team at People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) to create a prequel that lived up to the series legacy.  That game, Gears of War Judgment, arrived in stores last week with not only an entertaining new story revolving around long-time regulars Baird and “Cole Train” but also new multiplayer touches to keep players returning online.

With a new Gears of War there are new Achievements to add to your Gamerscore.  Some can be earned by going through the game’s single player campaign; others strictly by completing tasks in multiplayer.  Then there are some that will test your ultimate fragging skills, whether you prefer shooting a Locust soldier in the face or sawing them in half with your Lancer.

Whatever your preference, we’ve got the breakdown of Achievements for you right here.  Some minor spoilers ahead, but you’ve probably plowed through the campaign by now anyway.  Let’s break ’em down…

The first Achievements come with completing parts of the story (including the unlockable Aftermath chapter), and are as follows…

They Called Him Karn (10 points) – Completed Museum of Military Glory

Open Arms (10 points) – Completed Halvo Bay Military Academy

The Real Thing (10 points) – Completed Seahorse Hills

Lion Heart (50 points) – Completed all Campaign Chapters on insane difficulty

Then there are the secondary awards that come with the main story, and they’re listed here…

Party People (10 points) – Played any section in 4-player Co-op.

Blood Brothers (50 points) – Completed all Campaign Chapters in Co-op.

Challenge Accepted (5 points) – Completed your first Declassified mission.

Never Give Up (10 points) – Completed at least 20 Declassified missions.

Quality Soldiering (50 points) – Completed all Declassified missions.

A Peek Into the Future (10 points) – Watched Aftermath teaser.  (This is one of the easier ones, obviously.)

The Aftermath (20 points) – Unlocked Aftermath.  (This comes with earning 40 stars in the main story mode, which should take a couple of hours at best.)

Rising Star (10 points) – Attained 50 Stars on at least Casual difficulty.

Shooting Star (20 points) – Attained 75 Stars on at least Normal difficulty.

Star Struck (50 points) – Attained 100 Stars on at least Hardcore difficulty.  (Good luck with this one.)

Respect for the Fallen (20 points) – Recovered all 48 COG Tags during the Campaign.

Ribbon Master (10 points) – Earned three unique Ribbons in any section of Campaign.

Proud Wearer (5 points) – Equipped your first medal.

Ready For War (20 points) – Earned at least one Onyx medal.

Subarite (50 points) – Earned the Onyx “War Supporter” medal.

Seriously Judgmental (75 points) – Completed all Declassified Missions on Insane difficulty.

Here are the leveling awards.  These can be earned by progressing through single player, co-op and multiplayer, so frag away.

Level 5 (5 points) – Reached Level 5 in ranking.

Level 10 (10 points) – Reached Level 10 in ranking.

Level 20 (10 points) – Reached Level 20 in ranking.

Level 30 (15 points) – Reached Level 30 in ranking.

Level 40 (25 points) – Reached Level 40 in ranking.

Level 50 (25 points) – Reached Level 50 in ranking.

Let’s Do This (50 points) – Achieved Level 50 and chose to re-up for another tour of duty.

Fearless (50 points) – Achieved Level 50 a second time and chose to re-up for another tour.

Unstoppable (50 points) – Achieved Level 50 for a third time and chose to re-up for another tour.  (Notice a trend yet?)

Now let’s get into the real meat of the game with the multiplayer Achievements.  There are a bunch to earn here, so call up your friends and get to earning already.

Death To Locust (10 points) – Killed with all classes of COG in Overrun or Survival.

Death to the COG (10 points) – Killed with all classes of Locust in Overrun.

Survivor (10 points) – Completed wave 10 on all maps in Survival mode.

Globe Trotter (10 points) – Won a match on every map in all Versus modes.

All Rounder (10 points) – Won one match in Free For All, Team Deathmatch and Domination.

Roaming Free (10 points) – Won one match on every map in Free For All.

Team On Tour (10 points) – Won one match on every map in Team Deathmatch.

Overran (10 points) – Won one match on every map in Overrun mode.

Dominator (10 points) – Won one match on every map in Domination.

Obviously the highest ranking Achievements in Gears of War Judgment are given based on playing on the highest skill level, Insane.  This is a meaty challenge, as Locust soldiers come at you with everything they have.  It’s recommended that newcomers to the series – or those who haven’t developed a competitive edge from the multiplayer just yet – start with an easier difficulty and work their way up from there or partner up with a vet in co-op who can show them the ropes.

Keep in mind these Achievements don’t include the downloadable content that will be coming for the game in the months ahead.  Epic Games is likely to add more points to whatever’s coming out for the game, so keep some room open on your GamerScore.  (Yeah, like you’re gonna run out…)

Gears of War: Judgment is available now for Xbox 360.
