Nintendo managed to rack up just under 10,000 sales of its new 3DS XL handheld.

The (near) figure comes from Jognny Minkley as he spoke to GamesIndustry International.
While the amount is pretty impressive it pales in significance when compared to Japanese sales, which reached 193,000 in two days.
It must be noted that Japan has a huge love for handhelds and the release of the 3DS XL coincided with the launch of New Super Mario Bros. 2, which we won’t be seeing until August 19th.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has expressed his disappointment in 3DS sales outside Japan, describing them as “weak”.
