The WWE video game series has seen some epic additions over the years, especially the Attitude Era mode in last year’s WWE 13, which was considered a “game changer”. For WWE 2K14, 2K Games is going all in by paying tribute to the company’s biggest yearly event – Wrestlemania.
The new 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode revisits some of the greatest matches to take place during the event, with over 45 different bouts to choose from. These include the Wrestlemania III match where Hulk Hogan tussled with the enormous Andre the Giant, and eventually brought him down with a body slam, as well as the more recent encounter at Wrestlemania 28 between The Rock and John Cena, for the WWE championship.
The mode will be spread across five different eras, starting with the earlier superstars before moving into today’s roster. It will also utilize filters and video packages, recreating the time period when those Wrestlemania matches actually took place.
Let’s just hope the Hogan/Ultimate Warrior bout from Wrestlemania VI is in there, along with a few Undertaker matches. If anyone fits Wrestlemania, it’s him.
WWE 2K14 releases on October 29th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Be sure to check out our dedicated game page here.
