Top 10 Pokémon Trainers We’d Love to Invite Over for Friendsgiving

There’s plenty of trainers to choose from in the Pokemon world. But we’ve chosen our list of ten trainers that we would love to see at the Friendsgiving table with us this season.

Honorary Mentions

Silver

Silver is definitely in need of a Friendsgiving celebration—and more friends in general. The only problem is how standoffish he can be. He may not accept the invitation, even if he wants to go. If he does show up to the party, he’ll probably distance himself from most of the people there. It’s still worth a try, though!

Larry

Larry really, really deserves a break from all the work he has to do. Will he actually take you up on your Friendsgiving invite? That’s another story entirely. Larry may skip out on the party to catch up on any work he has left over. If he does join, however, he’ll no doubt appreciate all the good food, even if he isn’t the most talkative person there.

Roxie

Roxie will no doubt bring a lot of energy to Friendsgiving and be an all around fun person to hang out with. Just keep in mind that she may not be able to set up what she needs to play her signature rock music, so she probably won’t be providing the party with any tunes despite her musical background. She may also decide that this is finally the year she wants to try to work things out with her dad instead, so as great as it would be for Roxie to join, it’s up in the air whether she’ll make it to the party or not.

Top 10 Trainers We’d Love to Invite Over for Friendsgiving

10: Cynthia

Cynthia will no doubt have a lot of great stories to tell at a Friendsgiving party, both about her archeological finds and the Trainers she’s fought as Sinnoh’s Champion. There are only two things keeping her from ranking higher: one is the fear she tends to instill in people. She may inadvertently make some of the people around her nervous during the party. The second is that by inviting her, she can’t host her own party and invite you and everyone else to her and Caitlin’s snazzy villa in Undella Town.

9: Katy

Yes, there’s an ulterior motive to this invite: Katy, owner of the Patisserie Soapberry, would no doubt bring some of the most delicious baked goods and desserts to your Friendsgiving party. But she’s also a genuinely pleasant person, and would make for lovely company during any celebration, Friendsgiving or not.

8: Hau

It’s a good idea to invite some more laid back friends who can help balance out your high energy friends. Hau would definitely bring a chill vibe to the Friendsgiving party, which will be most welcomed among the big group of friends that will be there. He may also bring some delicious malasadas to share if you’re lucky.

7: Wally

Wally is another laid back friend to have over for Friendsgiving. He could spend Thanksgiving with his family back in Hoenn, but a Friendsgiving party would be a great opportunity to help him break out of his comfort zone and meet even more people. He may not be the strongest Trainer around, but his adventures have taken him as far as the Battle Tree in Alola, so Wally will definitely have a lot of fun stories to share with all his new friends.

6: Viola

While you’re all having fun during Friendsgiving, you’ll surely want to take some pictures to remember the event—and all the delicious food! When she isn’t chatting away about her exciting art projects with the guests, Viola will definitely be taking tons of fantastic photographs that will keep all your memories of the event alive long after it’s finished.

5: Raihan

Raihan is exactly the kind of high energy friend you’ll want to invite to Friendsgiving. He’ll know all the best streams to watch, mostly because he’ll be a part of them. Raihan will also be a great talking partner with a lot of great tales to tell from his time as a Gym Leader and the unbeatable Champion Leon’s rival. His outgoing nature also means he won’t leave anyone out at the party, making him a fantastic choice to invite to Friendsgiving—or just for any occasion, really.

4: N

Please, do not let N spend Thanksgiving with Ghetsis. Invite him to Friendsgiving instead. He’ll be able to translate what any of the Pokémon at the party are saying, instantly making for a more interesting event. And N will no doubt have a lot of interesting stories of his own to tell, about the time he lived among Pokémon in the forests as a child, to the time he traveled the world after he disbanded Team Plasma. Just don’t bring up Team Plasma itself, unless you want the party’s mood to crumble down harder than N’s Castle.

3: Giacomo

All of those head banging tracks you hear while fighting members of Team Star? Giacomo made those. That’s all the reason you need to invite him over to your Friendsgiving party: you know you’ll have the sickest playlist blasting in the background with Giacomo around. Just be sure to prepare for extra guests, since the rest of the tight-knit Team Star will almost certainly crash your party while he’s there.

2: Siebold

When it comes to cooking, there’s no Pokémon Trainer better than Siebold. Whatever food Siebold brings to the Friendsgiving party will no doubt be some of, if not the absolute finest dishes you’ve ever tasted. He’ll also be an interesting conversation partner as not only a world-class chef, but as a member of Kalos’s Elite Four, too. He can be overly serious at times, but it’s a small price to pay for the major upgrade the party’s menu will receive upon his arrival.

1: Arven

Arven is the perfect Pokémon Trainer to invite over for Friendsgiving. Aside from his Mabosstiff, he tragically doesn’t have any family to spend Thanksgiving with, making Friendsgiving a lot more up his alley. He’s also great at cooking and preparing sandwiches, so you know he’ll bring some fantastic food to the party. Although it can take Arven some time to warm up to others, the context of a Friendsgiving party will no doubt help him be his energetic, outgoing self, and breathe even more joy into the festivities. While it certainly doesn’t hurt that Arven (and Siebold… and Katy) can make a mean sandwich, he and his Mabosstiff will make for wonderful guests at any Friendsgiving celebration, proving that the best sandwiches are the ones shared with friends.
