Should You Choose Classic Prestige or Regular Prestige in Modern Warfare 4?
All the details on the two types of Prestige in Modern Warfare 4, including how Classic Prestige and Regular Prestige vary.
A new entry in the Call of Duty series has arrived with Modern Warfare 4 and there’s important decisions to be made when it comes to the pinnacle of the progression system.
Modern Warfare 4 has two options to head down when you reach Prestige: either adopting the classic Call of Duty approach or opting for a new type of experience, and the choice is a big one.
If you can’t decide what route to go down, we’ve got all the details and some tips.
What’s The Difference Between Classic & Regular Prestige?
Both options for Prestige in Modern Warfare 4 are encountered when you complete Level 55, the maximum account level, and, each time, you’ll be faced with a choice between Classic and Regular Prestige.
Classic Prestige, as the name suggests, provides the traditional experience, resetting level unlocks and Create-a-Class progress, providing a 20% XP boost, a Permanent Unlock Token, and extra cosmetic bonuses compared to the other Prestige track.
Meanwhile, Regular Prestige has a more flexible progression path, restarting your progress from Level 1 while retaining all level unlocks and Create-a-Class content, with cosmetic bonuses to earn in exchange.
Should You Choose Classic or Regular Prestige?
The best option is certainly Classic Prestige, particularly if you’re a fond grinder of the game, as the Permanent Unlock Tokens mean you can immediately secure your favorite weapons and equipment for future use.
A 20% boost to XP, which stacks with each Prestige, is another big addition, making it much quicker to progress through the level system, and the extra rewards shouldn’t be sniffed at either. However, it depends on how much you play.
If you’re a more casual Call of Duty player, Regular Prestige may be the best option as it won’t reset your grind and still provides some cosmetic rewards to work toward.
