Little Hope: Act I – Darkest Dreaming
After Little Hope‘s opening credits, you’ll be back at the bus’ crash site. You’re introduced to the game’s characters. You’ve got four college students Andrew, Taylor, Daniel, and Angela, and their professor, John.
As Taylor, your dialogue choices here will affect your relationship with John.
After a few conversations, walk along the highway and examine the road sign.
Reunion and No Escape: The highway
Premonition: After opening the gate and reuniting with Daniel and Angela, you’ll regain control of Taylor. Walk to the clearing past the gate and, at the back of the pickup truck, you’ll find your first premonition, “Deadly Omen.”
Continue along the highway until you reach the next area, Black Cat Bar.
Taylor and Daniel will begin talking. Your responses here will affect the relationship of the couple, so try to be a little positive.
Vince: Black Cat Bar
You’re controlling John this time. There’s a stranger at the bar and his name is Vince.
He’ll offer John a drink. You can choose to accept or refuse this. The subsequent dialogue choices will either have you acting in a certain manner towards Vince.
You can then play darts with Daniel. This is also a tutorial for Little Hope‘s aiming mechanics.
Examine the phone, flyer, newspaper, and World War I photograph to collect some of Little Hope‘s secrets.
When you’re done, exit the Black Cat Bar.
Playing Tricks: Back at the highway
You’re controlling Andrew again. You can peer through the window to see what Vince is doing. If you go to the side of the bar, you can check out Little Hope‘s town map.
Premonition: Another premonition, “Familiars,” can be found on one of the benches.
Continue walking along the road and examine the effigies. You’ll have some conversations with Angela too.
Eventually, you’ll spot a poppet, a tiny doll made of straw. Examine it for a short scene where you’ll meet a child named Mary. There are also some dialogue options here.
Speak with the rest of your group afterward.
After this part, the Curator will speak with you about your decisions. It’s time to check out Little Hope‘s second act.
