No matter how many friends you want to play WARDOGS with, this is the exact process of partying up.

Playing with friends in WARDOGS can be complicated due to the logistics of the feature, as you’ll have to manually join the same match as whoever you want to play with.

Here’s a step-by-step process for playing WARDOGS with friends.

  1. Ensure you are on the same server region as your friends.
  2. Communicate with your friends outside of the game and confirm a server number.
  3. Join the server queue with any friends you want to play with, and select the same color faction.
  4. When on the same team, open up a squad by pressing ‘ESC’ and selecting ‘Create a Squad.’
  5. Invite your friends to join you, or open the Squad up for anyone to join freely.

While that’s the basic approach to playing WARDOGS with friends, there is an alternative way that may prove to be quicker.

  1. Ask your friend to join a server and a faction of their choosing.
  2. Make sure your friend creates a squad for the party.
  3. Go on your Steam friends list, right-click their name, and select ‘Join Game’
  4. You will then auto-join the same server and same Faction, as long as there is space.

Can You Join a Pre-Game Lobby With Friends in WARDOGS?

No, WARDOGS does not support an option to join a pre-game lobby with friends, instead requiring you to complete the rather lengthy process.

It remains to be seen whether this will be adjusted moving forward, but it could all change in the future as the game develops and moves toward a 1.0 release.

A pre-game squad option would certainly be the best approach when it comes to WARDOGS’ console launch, which is confirmed to be on the way in 2028.
