Aniimo has plenty of creatures to track down and add to your collection, including the rare Umbral Aniimo variants, which can appear during Wild Surges.

While Prismana Aniimo are the most highly-coveted types to collect, other Aniimo variants provide huge differences to their standard forms, including in both appearance and stats.

Umbral Aniimos are among them, and while the visually-striking differences may not last, the stat bonuses are perfect for long-term team building.

What are Wild Surges in Aniimo?

Wild Surges in Aniimo are a special event that let you spawn multiple Aniimo in a set location, with a chance of one of those appearing being a rare Umbral version.

They are done by Infusing Energy onto a Bloom, which is free the first time around, but has different requiremnts for any future use.

After infusing, head to the Bloom with infused energy and interact with it to start the Wild Surge, which starts a two-minute timer.

Once every Aniimo has been caught, or time runs out, the Wild Surge will end. During this period, there’s a chance of an Umbral Aniimo spawning, and it may also trigger Prismana Flow.

What is an Umbral Aniimo?

Umbral Aniimo have a dark color palette, making them visually different from standard forms, though this appearance is lost upon evolution.

A permanent bonus, however, is that an Umbral Aniimo is guaranteed to have Perfect Potential, making them an ideal recruit for your team in combat.

As well as Wild Surges, you can also hatch Umbral Aniimo from Umbral Aniimo Eggs, earned during the Operation: Egg Heist game mode.

As the name suggests, the Umbral Aniimo Eggs provide a guaranteed Umbral variant, though this mode doesn’t unlock until much later in the game.
