How to Become Freddy Fazbear & Five Nights at Freddy’s Characters in Fortnitemares

Fortnitemares 2026 has begun and the stand-out addition is undoubtedly the long-awaited collab with Five Nights at Freddy’s, which includes the ability to transform into Freddy Fazbear and co.

Fortnite fans have been crying out for a Five Nights at Freddy’s collab for years, and hints toward an upcoming collab started to arise at the start of Chapter 7 Season 4, before Epic Games officially confirmed the news.

If you’re keen to utilize one of the biggest collabs in Fortnitemares 2026 and want to become Freddy Fazbear or another Five Nights at Freddy’s favorite, here’s all the details on how.

How to Become Freddy Fazbear in Fortnite

The first step to transforming into Freddy Fazbear is to land at the Freddy’s Pizzeria POI, which is located in the north of the Battle Royale island, south of the easy-to-spot Pac-Man island.

Once here, gather weapons and other loot that you need, and then head inside the POI, making sure to be aware of any other players that may be lurking nearby with the same intention.

Inside, locate Freddy Fazbear and open fire. This boss is quite weak, so it shouldn’t take you too much time to eliminate them.

Once the health bar is depleted, Freddy Fazbear will power down and slump over. Head towards him and hold the interact button to possess the machine.

Now, you’ll be in control of Freddy Fazbear and will now have a boss health bar, which prevents you from being eliminated immediately. Once that’s depleted, you’ll be immune and invincible for a short period, before then becoming vulnerable again and returning to your standard health bar.

What Other Five Nights at Freddy’s Characters Can You Possess?

There are three other Five Nights at Freddy’s characters you can defeat and overcome in Fortnite, with their spawns being random inside Freddy’s Pizzeria.

From footage and experience so far, it seems Freddy Fazbear is a guaranteed spawn, and the leader of the crew will spawn alongside an additional animatronic, decided at random.

Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, and Bonnie the Bunny are the three other animatronic characters that may spawn and can be possessed during the Fortnitemares event.

You can, of course, elect to be these characters at any time by purchasing their skins in the Item Shop.
