While we still don’t have a release date at this time for CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 or for the second entry into the Bloodlines series, there is still a lot of hype for both upcoming adventures. Quest director for Cyberpunk 2077, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, recently sat down to talk a bit more about the upcoming open-world RPG and gave Vampire fans an inside look at how that particular journey inspired their latest IP.
“For my part, personally, Vampire [The Masquerade] Bloodlines, I do not know if you’ve heard of it,” said Tomaszkiewicz in a sit down with Wcctech. “In terms of what is an RPG in the first person view and the way in which its non-linearity is built in the gameplay and dialogue, this one of course. We are all players and we enjoy different genres but as a personal question, I would say Vampire Bloodlines. Specifically because it is the perfect example of a first person game and RPG that I personally enjoyed.”
While not “viral” like more modern adventures, Vampire: The Masquerade is a cult classic for tabletop gamers and Bloodlines continued on that fan love. With the second entry into the Bloodlines series slated for next year, it will be interesting to see how long-time fans take to the upcoming adventure.
As for Cyberpunk 2077, we don’t know when that game will be releasing – though several leaks have surfaced to claim a 2019 release date despite the developers saying it’s not ready yet – but we do know that the game will have a presence once more during this year’s E3. Maybe we’ll get official world on a launch window then!
