This Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Mod Makes Cal Look Much Different

A "Better Call Cal" mod gives us a VERY different looking protagonist in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out now and has received rave reviews from gamers and critics alike. Players have been loving the journey of Cal Kestis’ escape from Order 66 and his growth as a Jedi in a very Star Wars-canon setting. That being said, the main character has often been referred to as “bland” regarding his presence and look, and while the presence can’t be changed some modders have taken to Nexus Mods to tweak what our protag looks like.

One mod in particular, the “Better Call Cal” mod, complete transforms the way Cal looks with a few different options. There’s the buzzed off, scruff Cal and there’s the all-over scruffy Cal fully equipped with facial scars. While this doesn’t change the story, it does make the main character appear less cookie-cutter, which does help to sell the “Jedi on the run” narrative that Respawn is selling.

According to the modder, “…..and tell him to get a damn haircut! This mod alters Cal to look like he’s not such a ginger. No offense to any gingers. This mod removes his hair in favor of a buzz-cut, darkens his hair and complexion to be less….ginger-y, and also adds a bit of post-pubescent scruff. After all, a young man on the run from the Sith wouldn’t exactly be shaving every morning.

“There are additional files that alter the colors of his default outfit. I didn’t mind him wearing the work poncho in the beginning, that made sense, he was at work…however, I thought it more natural to make his clothes…ya know….HIS clothes. It’s kind of ridiculous to think of a modern-day action movie where some kid like….leaves Jiffy Lube to take on a criminal enterprise….and he stays in his jiffy lube outfit the whole time.      Actually now that I think about it that’s kind of a cool ass movie idea… has alike a Die Hard/ John Wick feel to it. Like he didn’t even get ready to eff up yous s***…he just clocked out and effed up your s***. Anyway download it if you want….or go ef up the Sith in a Jiffy Lube uniform.”

The mod has undergone several updates since it went live, but you can get this change for yourself for the PC version of the game right here – for free – through Nexus mods.

As for the game itself, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through Origin.
