What do you think of the recent actions taken by Activision Blizzard and the “accountability plans” they shared?

They’re words on a web page until there are public records of results. If this is an honest set of plans, then it’s a start for sure. But at the moment there’s no reason to take it at face value.

God of War (2018) is coming to PC! What other Sony games would you like to see get a PC release?

Legend of Dragoon, Gravity Rush, PaRappa the Rapper and maybe Bloodborne.

How do you feel about the NFT discussions happening with Steam no longer allowing NFT and blockchain-based games on their platform?

I’m happy to be on the outside of any and all NFT discource. Presumably Steam doesn’t want to host anything that has potential financial liabilities for the userbase beyond loot boxes or whatever.

Would you ever own a gaming-related appliance like the Xbox fridge?

There’s a PaRappa the Rapper toaster out there and one day I will own it. That’s all.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Morgan always spends a lot of time on their interviews, and this week’s was a great one as usual.

Playing any fun games this weekend?

Yes! And there’ll be coverage about it on Monday! But I can’t say what it is yet because videogames. Also continuing work on Shadowbringers and maybe I’ll give Metroid Other M a whirl or something.

Are there any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

I watched the first episode of Squid Game, but I think everyone already knows about that one. I didn’t even watch Star Trek this week!

Bonus question, what are some of your all-time favorite multiplayer games?

I put multiple hundred hours into Street Fighter IV; that will always be the GOAT for me. Unreal Tournament was an older favorite, and I’m always down for Tetris. Also, any arcade beat ’em up with co-op is an automatic thumbs up.

What do you think of the recent actions taken by Activision Blizzard and the “accountability plans” they shared?

It’s still a whole lot of nothing. The people they fired aren’t even super high up in the company so it’s just all performative.

God of War (2018) is coming to PC! What other Sony games would you like to see get a PC release?

Bloodborne, it’s the only game that really needs the additional love and care. 60 FPS would be huge.

How do you feel about the NFT discussions happening with Steam no longer allowing NFT and blockchain-based games on their platform?

NFTs suck, the blockchain sucks, it’s all pretty terrible and I’m confused as to why so many people feel the need to try and grift people like this.

Would you ever own a gaming-related appliance like the Xbox fridge?

Yeah I think there is a novelty in it. I don’t know if I would personally buy one for myself, but if I got it as a gift or something I would totally display it.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Morgan did a really excellent review of Before Your Eyes that you should totally check out.

Playing any fun games this weekend?

 Playing something that is {redacted}

Are there any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

I recently finished Only Murders in The building, which is on Hulu. It’s a very funny show starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.

Bonus question, what are some of your all-time favorite multiplayer games?

Halo 3is probably top tier for me. So many hours playing custom games with friends. Otherwise I’d have to see anything cooperative like Destiny or MMOS.

Morgan

What do you think of the recent actions taken by Activision Blizzard and the “accountability plans” they shared?

I think it’s a start, but a lot more work needs to be done to correct the situation. Not only that, but there’s always the concern that even if things get fixed, they’ll end up backsliding when people stop paying attention.

God of War (2018) is coming to PC! What other Sony games would you like to see get a PC release?

All of them to be honest, it makes it easier for people who don’t have a PlayStation to enjoy some of these amazing games. Making games available to a wider audience on different platforms, like PC, is never a bad thing in my opinion.

How do you feel about the NFT discussions happening with Steam no longer allowing NFT and blockchain-based games on their platform?

I think it’s interesting, and I don’t disagree with Steam and people who view NFTs as shady. I’ve never understood the appeal, and probably never will.

Would you ever own a gaming-related appliance like the Xbox fridge?

I want to say no, but I feel like at some point they’re going to create something like an Xbox toaster or PlayStation coffee maker that’ll be so ridiculous I can’t help but buy it. The Xbox fridge is – as odd as it is to say – a little too normal for me to want to buy.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

I enjoyed Jesse’s review of Inscryption, and the Metroid boss guides from Lucas. Also am very proud of the GoodbyeWorld Games interview I did, I think it turned out well.

Playing any fun games this weekend?

Am actually taking a trip to visit family, so while I’m stressing out on the plane I’ll probably be playing some games on Switch to distract me. Looking forward to checking out Metroid Dread… finally lol.

Are there any TV, movie, anime, or music recommendations that you’d like to share?

Finished Squid Game, definitely think it’s worth the watch. I also caved and started watching Love on the Spectrum after I told myself I wouldn’t watch it (for personal reasons). I just needed something less dark after Squid Game.

I actually really like the show so far, but I’m only three episodes in. I will have more thoughts to share on it in the future when I finish it, and I have heard from autistic people there are issues with it so I’m trying to keep that in mind.

Other than that, I always have music recommendations, have been listening to a lot of Dreamcatcher, they’re perfect for October spooky, but catchy listening.

Bonus question, what are some of your all-time favorite multiplayer games?

Tetris, of course. I also really enjoy Paladins, Chivalry 2, Fortnite, and Halo.
