Thoughts on Amazon’s New World?
Zero interest! Colonialism as a premise is just an instant “no” from me. Especially how on the nose it is here.
Have there been any news out of this year’s Tokyo Game Show that caught your attention?
I am so in for Stranger of Paradise! I mean, I was before but I am reaffirmed now. Seeing Gungrave G.O.R.E. in action was exciting as well.
Favorite piece(s) on the site this week?
It was a fairly slow week all things considered, so I’ll just point to the Axiom Verge thing and say Buy our Book! Also, Morgan’s Hot Wheels review was interesting.
Playing any games this weekend?
Final Fantasy XIV for sure, probably some Blue Reflection 2 and Darksiders 3 (on Switch) also.
Are there any movie, TV, anime, or music recommendations that you’ve been enjoying and would like to share?
Square Enix has some lofi stuff up on Spotify and it’s exactly what you’d expect but hey; that stuff is popular for a reason.
Bonus question, what are some of your favorite, memorable video game character outfits?
I love all the clothes Travis Touchdown wears in the No More Heroes series, probably because I’d wear it all myself if I could. And speaking of Suda, good lord I’d kill to have a replica of Garcia Hotspur’s jacket in Shadows of the Damned.

Thoughts on Amazon’s New World?
As an MMO it’s pretty solid. It’s super not story heavy and is really focused on resource gathering and crafting. It’s been pretty chill just chopping trees and mining rocks all day.
Have there been any news out of this year’s Tokyo Game Show that caught your attention?
Just that Final Fantasy Stranger in Paradise clip that’s been making the rounds. That game is very funny.

Are there any movie, TV, anime, or music recommendations that you’ve been enjoying and would like to share?
I started Squid Game because everyone was talking about it, so far I like it!
Bonus question, what are some of your favorite, memorable video game character outfits?
Off of the top of my head I would have to say that Colt and Julianna’s jackets in Deathloop are some of my favorite character outfits of recent memory.

Thoughts on Amazon’s New World?
I actually tried it out a really, really long time ago when it was in an early alpha state, then later tried the beta tests, and have looked at New World now that it’s launched. All I’ll say is the game is not for me, and no matter how much I try to like it, I just can’t.
Have there been any news out of this year’s Tokyo Game Show that caught your attention?
Yes! Love to hear that Tango Gameworks is already cooking up their next game, fingers crossed for The Evil Within 3 (I don’t think that’s what it is, I could be wrong though). And the trailer for Gungrave G.O.R.E. really has me hyped for the game’s release, it looks cool as heck.

Shoutout to Jesse for all of his New World guides, they’re fantastic! Also loved Lucas’s review of the new Super Monkey Ball. Shoutout to Josh for the Metroid article this weekend, loved it, and to Bryan for his detailed movie reviews, I’m very stoked to have those on the site!
Playing any games this weekend?
I am going to try my hand at a Fortnite tournament on PlayStation for solos. I don’t think I’ll win, or even get anywhere close to winning anything, but I want to see how far I can get. If I get farther than I expect to get, I’ll be really happy. That’s what it’s all about for me.
Also will be playing a few other games I have on the list, including one I’ll be reviewing.
Are there any movie, TV, anime, or music recommendations that you’ve been enjoying and would like to share?
First, I’ve been super into the idea of growing mushrooms like Lion’s Mane so I’ve been watching a lot of videos and have been absolutely fascinated by the process. Mushrooms are rad, I highly recommend this mini doc about a man who runs a business growing mushrooms.
And knowing me, I have a kpop recommendation, this time for ITZY’s Loco. I’ve heard some people don’t like it, but I get a lot of early 2000s vibes from it that I really like.
Bonus question, what are some of your favorite, memorable video game character outfits?
Always loved Bayonetta’s outfits, the one shown in Bayonetta 3 looks stunning. I also love the original design for Dante from Devil May Cry, and I adore Geralt’s outfits in The Witcher series. All of the outfits in The Witcher if I’m being honest, Ciri, Yennefer, all of them.
