A quick look at all of the articles posted to the site during the week of August 30 through September 3.

Friday has finally arrived, bringing with it yet another End of the Week recap here at Prima Games. If you’re unfamiliar with our End of the Week recaps, they’re essentially a feature we publish every Friday as a way to help our readers navigate through all of the content posted to the site during the week, no excess scrolling required.

We also include a Staff Chat section at the bottom where you can get to know the Prima Games team a bit better. And if you use Twitch, we regularly do a Twitch livestream on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. (EST) to 6:30 p.m. over at twitch.tv/primagames. Note that we will not be doing one this Friday.

With that out of the way, let’s dive in and check out all of the content posted to Prima Games during the week of August 30 through September 3!

What do you think of Sony not offering a free upgrade path for Horizon Forbidden West?

I never expected that kinda thing to last forever, but it does seem weird not to offer it for such a big game when PS5 supply is still so inconsistent. And with Smart Delivery ostensibly being a permanent fixture over in Xboxland (publisher decisions pending) that’s a big point console warriors are gonna be throwing at each other for a while.

What are you hoping to see at the PlayStation Showcase on September 9?

Gotta get more of that Final Fantasy Orgin, yo.

Similarly, THQ Nordic is having a showcase, what do you think they have up their sleeve in terms of game reveals?

Who even knows when it comes to THQ Nordic? I have no idea what to expect from these folks.

Thoughts on the Game Pass and PS Plus games for September?

Nothing really stands out to me this month, although any Final Fantasy fans that haven’t played XIII on a newer Xbox need to check it out.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Morgan’s Beacon Pines preview is awesome. Got me paying attention to that game for sure.

Playing any fun games this weekend?

Yep! Always trying to catch up in Final Fantasy XIV, and we have a Tales of Arise review in the works for y’all.

Do you have any TV, anime, movie, or music recommendations that you’ve been enjoying and would like to share?

I caught Lupin III: The First in theaters last weekend. If you’re an anime person you gotta see it. The animation is mind-blowing even if the story is kinda simple.

Bonus question, what are some early, impressive video game accomplishments you made when you were growing up?

I think my crowning achievement when I was a kid was getting 100% in Kirby’s Dream Land 3 for the SNES.

What do you think of Sony not offering a free upgrade path for Horizon Forbidden West?

I wrote about it in an article, but I’m not happy with that decision, obviously. I’m really excited for Horizon Forbidden West and feel like this isn’t a good look for Sony when previously it was implied next-gen upgrades for the game would be free.

What are you hoping to see at the PlayStation Showcase on September 9?

I’m keeping my mind blank at this point because I don’t want to set my expectations too high. I feel like there will be some meaty announcements, but nothing earth shattering. Again, I feel like those sort of announcements are going to be kept for The Game Awards at the end of the year as we move into a (hopefully) better year in 2022.

Similarly, THQ Nordic is having a showcase, what do you think they have up their sleeve in terms of game reveals?

THQ Nordic over the last few years has been acquiring properties nonstop, so I honestly have no clue. I’m excited to see, though!

Thoughts on the Game Pass and PS Plus games for September?

It’s alright, nothing that knocks me off my feet, but a good offering.

Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?

Lucas has been doing some amazing reviews this week, and shoutout to Jesse for the amazing guides this week!

Playing any fun games this weekend?

One I can’t really talk about yet, but I’m really looking forward to digging in deeper into the game. Stay tuned for a review!

Do you have any TV, anime, movie, or music recommendations that you’ve been enjoying and would like to share?

I actually don’t this week, music wise I mean. I’ve been watching a lot of RuPaul’s Drag Race lately, both the latest All Stars season and catching up with Season 2 of Drag Race UK. Out of everything I am really enjoying the UK seasons a lot, so if you’re looking for more Drag Race outside of All Stars I recommend watching the UK seasons if you haven’t already. They’re an absolute blast!

Bonus question, what are some early, impressive video game accomplishments you made when you were growing up?

I remember getting all the way through Pokemon Silver on my own, no help, at age 7. I did the same with the original Luigi’s Mansion and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and I remember being really proud of myself in those moments.

In hindsight though, not all that impressive given my 3-year-old son has been playing both Pokemon Sword & Shield and Luigi’s Mansion 3 without much issue but yeah lol.
