Friday is finally here, which means it’s End of the Week recap time here at Prima Games! Not familiar with our End of the Week recaps? Essentially, the End of the Week recap is a feature we publish every Friday as a way to help people navigate through all of the content posted to the Prima site during the week, no excess scrolling required.

What do you think of the news out of Gamescom so far?
Nothing crazy but some neat stuff here and there. It’s unfortunate that gamescom had to be digital since the real appeal to that show for me has always been new hands-on stuff.
Have there been any standout trailers or announcements for you?
I had already seen it a while ago, but it was nice to see Gungrave G.O.R.E. air to the public, and April O’Neil showing up in Shredder’s Revenge was an easy hype moment.
What do you think of the Halo Infinite version of Xbox?
I missed it when it was on the stream and haven’t really cared enough to look at it, haha. Already have a Series X and am not really into Halo as like an aesthetic.
Are you looking forward to the live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation, or are you on the fence?
I am! Cowboy Bebop is the most overrated anime by western fans of all time, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good. And I’m down to see what the folks involved do with the material.
Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?
Morgan’s Stephen King piece was dope as hell. I gotta read that book.
Playing any fun games this weekend?
Yeah! I beat No More Heroes 3 today, so I’ll be off to new, embargoed horizons for work gaming. I’m also on the edge of finishing my current free time joint, Super Robot Wars V.
Do you have any TV, movie, music, or anime recommendations that you’d like to share?
I’ve had mechs on the brain for obvious reasons, and especially Go Nagai’s work. Check out Shin Getter Robo on Retro Crush for some classic super robot and angry yelling sideburns man action.
Bonus question, what’s one of the funniest things you’ve encountered in a game?
The opening bits of Sam & Max Hit the Road, when the pair realize the robotic head they held on to from the intro is a bomb.
“Sam: Where should I put this so it won’t harm anyone we know or care about?
Max: Out the window Sam! There’s nobody but strangers out there!”

What do you think of the news out of Gamescom so far?
Pretty solid. Gamescom is usually a place where we get updates on games we knew about already and that’s pretty much what we got. Obviously a few exceptions to the rule here.
Have there been any standout trailers or announcements for you?
That Marvel Midnight Suns game looks awesome. I recently started going through XCOM 2 again so I’m down for another Firazxis game.
What do you think of the Halo Infinite version of Xbox?
I like it way more than the controller. I hate the Master Chief green so a nice black and gold Xbox is way more appealing to me.
Are you looking forward to the live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation, or are you on the fence?
SO I’m not actually a huge Cowboy Bebop person, so I don’t have many thoughts on this.
Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?
Going to plug my own Psychonauts 2 review. Truly my currently GOTY and a game I think everyone needs to play.
Playing any fun games this weekend?
I’m actually going to visit my parents this weekend so probably no gaming for me.
Do you have any TV, movie, music, or anime recommendations that you’d like to share?
I’ve been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time, and sure, this show has got some real problems, but I’m enjoying it!
Bonus question, what’s one of the funniest things you’ve encountered in a game?
Without spoiling anything, there’s a scene in Psychonauts 2 involving milk that might be my favorite scene.

What do you think of the news out of Gamescom so far?
I think it’s been pretty eventful so far. We have a release date for Horizon Forbidden West, a release date for indies I’m really looking forward to like Sifu, and new announcements like a new Saints Row game.
It honestly makes me even more excited for The Game Awards at the end of the year. I think they’re going to be much bigger this year than last year.
Have there been any standout trailers or announcements for you?
While I’m sad about Horizon Forbidden West not releasing until February (though I’d prefer it be delayed and release in the best possible state), the PS5 update announcement for Horizon Zero Dawn caught me by surprise.
I’ve been replaying Horizon Zero Dawn on PS5, so the timing was just *chef’s kiss* perfect.
What do you think of the Halo Infinite version of Xbox?
It’s gorgeous, it’s one of those things that I want but don’t need. I won’t be buying it, but I do like the aesthetics of it a lot.
Are you looking forward to the live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation, or are you on the fence?
I am actually looking forward to it, I’m going to go in with no expectations of it being good and will see what happens. Even if it’s bad, the show has a real corgi as Ein, that’s worth a watch for me lol.
Favorite piece(s) on the site this week, and why?
I’m going to start by saying my piece on The Long Walk, I felt lucky to be able to write about a book I’ve read so much for work, and tie it to gaming in a cool way. So yeah, very proud of that.
Also loving all of the Psychonauts 2 guides from Jesse and Jesse’s review of the game, as well as the No More Heroes 3 review from Lucas.
Playing any fun games this weekend?
I actually am! Some for Prima, and some that are just for myself (Horizon Zero Dawn on PS5, that one’s just for me lol).
Do you have any TV, movie, music, or anime recommendations that you’d like to share?
I recently went back and listened to the Devil May Cry 5 soundtrack again, it’s absolutely brilliant. A standout for me is still Bury the Light (Vergil’s Battle Theme). I’ve also been catching up with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, and I really want to check out Drag Race Canada next.
Bonus question, what’s one of the funniest things you’ve encountered in a game?
I keep thinking of the clip I made from when I was streaming Chivalry: Medieval Warfare on IndieObscura. I got spawn killed and it caught me by surprise and it’s still really funny to me, I don’t know why. But here’s the clip.
