What are your thoughts on the talk of an upgraded Nintendo Switch whether it’s just improvements to the screen, or more?

An upgraded Switch is pretty unneccessary, but that could secretly be a great reason for it to exist. The New 3DS had a pretty substantial power boost, but it came out too late for it to matter much. A Switch capable of running its games more smoothly would be huge, especially since in many cases it woule make a big difference.

Plus, having that OLED screen would be sooooo sick. That said, I really don’t care about 4K so if we’re going to force resolution bumps and that doesn’t come with performance increases I’m not interested.

Recently, the Nintendo Switch celebrated its 4-year anniversary and during that time, a lot of awesome games have come out. What are some of your all-time favorite Nintendo Switch games?

Hoo boy what a question. I’ve been a huge fan of how the Switch has enabled a lot of Vita-like content to actually be successful, such as the Atelier games. The first Ryza is definitely a highlight, along with a lot of Wii U ports that have really benefitted from the small power boost and portability.

I’ve really loved seeing companies like Sega, Square Enix and Capcom embrace the Switch with all kinds of little weird ports and other projects. I’m also a big fan of the NES and SNES collections. Sure, the library has been building pretty slowly, but having those games in a subscription instead of individual purchases has made trying out the weird stuff much more viable.

News came out this week that Valheim has sold over 5 million copies, what do you think of Valheim?

Valheim is really outside of my wheelhouse, so I doubt I’ll ever play it. I do think it’s super interesting how many big fads we’ve seen in the past year or so. I don’t even mean “fad” in a perjorative way; It’s been really refreshing to see scrappier games get huge boosts of interest one by one.

Favorite piece on the site this week and why?

Jesse has done an excellent job making me experience FOMO with his Gnosia stuff.

Playing any interesting games this coming weekend?

I’m really digging into Bravely Default 2, to see what that game has to offer past its introductory moments.

What about TV, movies, anime, or music, have any recommendations you’d like to share?

I actually have one! If you have Crunchyroll or HBO Max, I’d reccommend Tower of God. It’s a Japanese-made anime but based on a Korean comic, which gives it a unique vibe. The animation is also incredible, which really helps make its kind of generic presence much more appealing.

Bonus question, if you could request any game, or series of games, get ported to Nintendo Switch, what would you choose?

Gosh, what a pandora’s box! I’d love to see more Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games beyond those already available. I think I’d also really love to see more compilations from the likes of Konami and Sega. Gimme Skies of Arcadia, gimme more Castlevania ports. How about some Gungrave too while we’re at it?

And you know what? I wouldn’t mind some more Sonic games just for funsies. Just go through all the classic game releases on other platforms and drag ’em all over. Clogs those pipes baby.

What are your thoughts on the talk of an upgraded Nintendo Switch whether it’s just improvements to the screen, or more?

I think the enhancements will be pretty minimal if at all. Screen resolution going above 720p for a 7-inch handheld is a waste of battery life, 1080p is not something that system needs. As far as other stuff goes, I’d be surprised to see native 4K or anything in that ballpark.

The Switch is based on that Nvidia chipset for the shield, and that thing does some upscaling stuff, but nothing crazy.

Recently, the Nintendo Switch celebrated its 4-year anniversary and during that time, a lot of awesome games have come out. What are some of your all-time favorite Nintendo Switch games?

I mean, Breath of the Wild is an easy choice, and an excellent game. I want to give a shoutout to Luigi’s Mansion 3 and POkemon Let’s Go. Both are excellent games.

News came out this week that Valheim has sold over 5 million copies, what do you think of Valheim?

I really like Valheim. I’ve sort of fallen off of it just because I’ve been sidetracked with other games. I plan to get back to it though because it’s a very pretty game.

Favorite piece on the site this week and why?

Morgan was on their K-Pop grind this week and it was fun to read.

Playing any interesting games this coming weekend?

This weekend I”ll probably try to finish Gnosia and maybe some Overwatch with friends.

What about TV, movies, anime, or music, have any recommendations you’d like to share?

Well, I watched Wandavision before work this morning and now I have nothing. However, if you haven’t watched it yet it’s all done now so you can catch the whole thing in one sitting!

Put Fur Fighters on the Nintendo Switch you cowards

What are your thoughts on the talk of an upgraded Nintendo Switch whether it’s just improvements to the screen, or more?

I think it’s an interesting idea, but I don’t know if it’s necessary. I have the regular Switch and the Switch Lite and I love both, I don’t see anything wrong with them the way they’re designed. That said, if they release a version with better Joy-Cons (no drift) and improved battery life, I’d probably want one…

Recently, the Nintendo Switch celebrated its 4-year anniversary and during that time, a lot of awesome games have come out. What are some of your all-time favorite Nintendo Switch games?

Tetris 99! I’ve put so many hours into Tetris 99, it’s wild. I’m going to add games like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokemon Let’s Go (I got the Eevee version), Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I also love how many indie games are available on the eShop.

News came out this week that Valheim has sold over 5 million copies, what do you think of Valheim?

Valheim is a ton of fun, I can see why so many people are jumping in especially with streamers playing the game and it being talked about so much on social media. It’s a relaxing game to play solo, and a wonderful adventure to play with friends. I can’t wait to see what the developers add to it in the future.

Favorite piece on the site this week and why?

I loved Jesse’s feature talking about Gnosia, it’s made me very curious about the game. Also loved the Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury review from Lucas, it had me hooked and I’m stoked the game got a 10/10! Adding that I had a lot of fun this week with my K-pop coverage thanks to the Dead by Daylight announcement of their All-Kill chapter. All of my interests got packed together from horror, Dead by Daylight, to K-pop in general. I’m very, very happy lol.

Playing any interesting games this coming weekend?

I’ve been hooked on Injustice 2 ever since I saw it on Game Pass and downloaded it. I own it on PlayStation, but had fallen off and forgotten about it. Now that I’m playing it again, it’s like… yeah, this is a blast I can’t believe I stopped playing this. If you’re looking for a game to play with friends too, Injustice 2 is great.

What about TV, movies, anime, or music, have any recommendations you’d like to share?

I shared a lot of K-pop this week… and you know what, I can’t resist, here’s one more lol. I’m not a dancer, but there’s a lot of what they call “tutting” and “vogueing” in this video from Irene & Seulgi and I’ve been trying my hardest to learn the hand movements while I’m at my desk and it’s not going well. It reminds me of the Daft Punk hands video that I tried to learn as a teenager all over again in the best possible way (also really sad about the Daft Punk news still).

Bonus question, if you could request any game, or series of games, get ported to Nintendo Switch, what would you choose?

Pokemon Stadium and Wind Waker, I need them back in my life on the Switch!
