What do you think of the tall vampire lady from Resident Evil?

I look forward to the random piece of paper towards the end of the game that explains how the whatever virus made vampires.

Jokes aside, the Maiden demo was neat and the most immediate change from the last game seems to be the physical presence/porperties (or lack thereof) of the bad guys, well before they turn into slimy tentacle monsters.

Were you surprised to hear Resident Evil: Village is releasing in May?

Nope! Capcom has made big changes in how it does its thing so we’ll probably continue seeing a relatively steady release flow from it.

What are your thoughts on Microsoft’s price increases for Xbox Live Gold?

I think it’s a real bummer for people out there who still just have that, especially lower income gamers who may still only have a 360. I can’t say with authority the intent here was to make Game Pass Ultimate look more enticing, but it definitely looks that way for now.

Favorite piece on the site this week, and why?

Always love to see a new review from the rest of the crew; shout outs to Jesse for Hitman 3

Are you playing any interesting games this weekend?

I was finally able to roll credits on Persona 5 Royal, so probably nothing outside of embargoed review stuff I wish I could talk about.

Watching anything interesting lately (movies, TV, anime)?

I watched the CG remake of the first Pokemon movie with my kid and boy was that weird. No cap, the CG was really good though.

Bonus question, what’s one of your favorite games from childhood that you still have fond memories of?

Donkey Kong Country will stick with me for as long as I live for so many reasons. Also really partial to Lunar: Eternal Blue for expanding my JRPG horizons past Final Fantasy very early on.

What do you think of the tall vampire lady from Resident Evil?

We love a tall queen. It’s fun to engage in weird Twitter culture, but ultimately I’m just excited for the game.

Were you surprised to hear Resident Evil: Village is releasing in May?

I did sort of expect that the be a big fall title, but I’m certainly happy to have it earlier than expected.

What are your thoughts on Microsoft’s price increases for Xbox Live Gold?

It makes sense in a weird way. There was a point in time where people thought it would be free and that never came to pass. The increase seems like a blatant move to push more Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Favorite piece on the site this week, and why?

Honestly, I don’t usually post my own stuff here, but I’m going to shout out my Hitman 3 review. Expect this game to come up in the GOTY conversation for 2021.

Are you playing any interesting games this weekend?

I’ve been down a really big Minecraft hole this week and I’m probably going to sink even more time in this weekend.

Watching anything interesting lately (movies, TV, anime)?

I need to watch the new WandaVision episode but outside of that, I’ll be catching up on Giantbomb’s Game of the year discussions from this week.

Bonus question, what’s one of your favorite games from childhood that you still have fond memories of?

Psychonauts was one of my first PlayStation 2 games that I honestly fell in love with. I’m so excited to see the sequel finally get released!

What do you think of the tall vampire lady from Resident Evil?

At first, I thought it was a little odd how much she took off across the internet, even as someone who’s absolutely obsessed with her. But then I saw the Bernie mittens thing take off and my two favorite things of the year have cemented themselves as tall vampire lady from Resident Evil, and Bernie and his mittens lol.

Were you surprised to hear Resident Evil: Village is releasing in May?

I was a little surprised, yeah. It’s the same feeling I had after Pokemon Snap was announced for April. I guess I’ve been used to games being pushed back and delayed, so hearing things are actually coming out relatively quickly has been exciting.

What are your thoughts on Microsoft’s price increases for Xbox Live Gold?

I’m sad, I’m not going to lie. Any price hike on things like that hurt gamers. I’ve been vocal in the past about opposing $70 games as the new norm, and it’s the same feeling.

I get people need to make money, but at the same time, a lot of people are hurting for money right now and things like this have an impact, even if people don’t think they do. Rambling I suppose, but yeah, it makes me sad.

Favorite piece on the site this week, and why?

Adding to the praise of Jesse’s Hitman 3 review, it was amazing. He’s been doing amazing work on the Hitman 3 coverage. I’d also add that Lucas’s Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom review was amazing as well!

Are you playing any interesting games this weekend?

I am, and due to embargo, I can’t really talk about what it is that I’m playing. It’s been amazing so far, the story of the game has proven itself to be really intriguing and the gameplay extremely innovative. And that’s all I’ll say… until embargo lifts. I’m excited.

Watching anything interesting lately (movies, TV, anime)?

Not really, I’ve been doing more gaming and reading than watching movies, TV, or anime. One of the nonfiction books I’ve been reading lately deals with the political shift between Red and Blue here in the US and how the divide between each party has grown and why it’s grown, things like that.

It’s interesting to me, probably very boring to everyone else.

I just feel like if there’s an opportunity for me to learn about things like the country I live in, other countries, historical events either here in the US or globally, medicine, science, technology, or just anything at all really, I want to take that opportunity to learn.

Bonus question, what’s one of your favorite games from childhood that you still have fond memories of?

Pokemon Silver. I remember having one of those see-through purple Game Boy Colors, a copy of Pokemon Silver, one of those little Game Boy worm lights, and just putting so many hours into playing the game, and then replaying it.

It’s one game where if more modern Pokemon remasters are coming out like Let’s Go, Pikachu… I really hope they do one for Pokemon Silver.

Not just something like Pokemon SoulSilver, but like a full Let’s Go, Johto. If they announced something like that, I’d probably cry to be honest. Pokemon Snap already has me emotional, but Pokemon Silver/Gold would be on a whole other level of emotion.
