No, Stacking Isn’t a Real Problem in Warzone

You just want easy mode bots.

Stacking in Warzone has become a growing topic in the era of Modern Warfare 3 due to a small group of streamers and content creators. Somehow, they have convinced a section of the community that stacking is a problem because squads of players are playing like a… squad. If it sounds like a ridiculous concept, that’s because it is!

If you follow Warzone at all, you’ve likely seen clips of players attempting to play solo Rebirth Island and having a team of four players chase them. Some of the clips lead to a quick demise while others are just a hard-gough four versus one where the solo player wins. Either way, there is a whole lot of “YYing” and plenty of complaining to follow. Stacking is one of the most ridiculous terms to come out of Warzone and most of the issue is self-inflicted.

The Problem Isn’t Stacking, It’s You

For casual Rebirth Island matches in Warzone, there is a playlist for every kind of player. That means you can queue as a solo or you can queue in a squad. Even Trios is an option if you want smaller squads. These are all basic additions to any Battle Royale game and somehow a section of the Warzone community doesn’t understand that. Instead, they will queue into squads by themselves so they can garner clips to post on Twitter/X. It’s all about the attention instead of having fun or just playing solo.

But these creators know this. The issue isn’t about players “Stacking” in a squad-based mode. No, the issue is that they aren’t running at the content creator in a single-file line so that they can break their camera and embarrass them. Shame on you for playing with your squad and trying to win! You should have known that the players are solo and then treated them fairly! At least that’s how they want you to feel.

Most players who play Warzone are casual players. In fact, that’s the case for nearly any game but it’s especially true of any Battle Royale games. They are meant to be chaotic fun instead of carefully crafted competitive experiences. But that doesn’t matter because the issue of stacking is self-inflicted. Nothing is stopping these players from queuing with a squad. They want clips, not a fair gameplay experience.

Players are Better at Warzone in 2024

The same cycle happens for nearly every Battle Royale game on the market. For the first six months, players are terrible and SBMM hasn’t had time to set in. Everyone has a blast trying to learn the game and the top players have the chance to grind ahead of the rest of the base. It makes winning a 4v1 fight far easier when the standard player base is new.

Fast forward to 2024, and Rebirth Island has returned. Aside from obvious changes to player count or the flow of the map, the average player is more competitive. The players who stuck with the game may not be in the top 1%, but they are certainly better than players from the original Rebirth Island. Mix that with SBMM and you’re going to get matches that are sweatier. Yet, some players still expect a bunch of bots to attack them one by one in a squad game mode.

Don’t listen to the fabricated outrage about stacking. This only really affects one tiny sliver of the top 1% of players and it has nothing to do with the fun of the game. So if you feel like “stacking” in squads, keep it up and grab the next victory.
