This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

After a suspicious Twitter post on the long-dormant Crysis account earlier this week, the team over at Crytek finally revealed, sort of, what they’ve been working on: a Crysis remaster. From ray-tracing improvements to a Nintendo Switch port, the Crysis Remastered reveal is exciting and long-time fans of this shooter can’t get enough.

Crysis Remastered Reactions

According to Crytek, the Crysis Remastered game will feature “new graphic features” and “CRYENGINE’s native hardware and API-agnostic ray tracing solutions.” In lamen’s terms: it’s gonna be pretty. The original Crysis was absolutely incredible, so to see it in this generation’s graphics is a real treat.

We weren’t the only ones to get excited for, fans flocked to social media to share their delight over the Crysis Remastered news:

The reveal, though done through the official Crysis website, technically isn’t “official” yet, instead it was leaked, but unlike our other warnings about taking leaks with a grain of salt, let’s be real: this was deliberate and this was awesome. The full trailer also leaked online, which can be seen below:

The trailer is cheeky and brilliant, first starting off with a barrage of fan requests asking for this very thing. Now that it looks like we’ve got what we wanted, it’s now a matter of when. The trailer ends off with a simple “coming soon” though it did add that it will be coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, which makes it a great reason for those that may have missed the original to dive right in.
