Incredible Mortal Kombat 11 Fan Art Gives Us Rain, Now It’s NetherRealm’s Turn

Though Rain has yet to be confirmed, an official member of the "Mortal Kombat Kollective" gave us what Boon hasn't.

Though there are a few more roster additions that have yet to be confirmed, including that of DLC fighters, for Mortal Kombat 11, that hasn’t stopped long-time Rain fans from shouting his name from the rooftops of Hype Town. While we wait for any sort of official confirmation on Rain’s inclusion in the upcoming fighting game, one artist – who is an official member of the licensed Mortal Kombat Kollective – is giving us the purple wonder.

Artist ‘BossLogic’ has done some incredible work for Mortal Kombat already, including fan art depicting his dream picks for the reported Mortal Kombat reboot movie on the horizon. Though he’s done some amazing renditions of already confirmed fighters, his work that bridges the gap between reveals is nothing short of perfect for those anxious to see who else made the roster cut.

For those unfamilar with Rain and why so many are hoping for his return, he first became a playable character in the Mortal Kombat Trilogy following his initial joke entrance in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

According to the franchise’s lore, Rain comes from the realm Edenia, the same place that gave us Kitana and Jade, though he doesn’t feel the same amount of loyalty to his origins as others in this world. Instead of swearing fealty to Edenia, he instead pledged himself to the evil Outworld emperor Shao Kahn. He also had a very interesting revelation about his character and where he fits in the overall narrative in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

While we still don’t have an official yay or nay regarding his inclusion in Mortal Kombat 11, the new fighter will be making its way onto the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23rd. With a few more reveals before launch and a list of DLC characters that have yet to be revealed, it’s not too late for Boon to give Rain fans what they want.
