The NES Classic Edition is finally available nationwide, and while retro fans love playing such classic games as Super Mario Bros. 3, Mega Man 2 and Ghosts ‘N Goblins, some consumers think the NES Classic Controller cord is a bit on the short side.
They might have a point, since the controller cord is a mere three feet in length. The NES Classic Edition comes with a fairly long HDMI cable, but you’ll still need to sit close to the screen. Well, unless you buy the My Arcade Extender Cable from Amazon. With a release date and price of November 30 and $9.99, respectively, this 10-foot cable increases the controller cord length to an insane 13 feet. The best part? It does the job!
Simply plug one end of the My Arcade Extender Cable into the NES Classic Edition, and the other end into the controller, and you’ll have plenty of cord to spare. This means you can relax on the couch without having to move furniture towards the TV. This is also a must have item for anyone with a wall-mounted HDTV.
Granted, there are other cables available. Nyko’s ExtendLink Extension Cable is six-feet long, but also the same price. The biggest difference? Nyko’s is available right now.
No matter which cable you buy, you’ll be able to play all of those classic NES games from a more comfortable distance away. Unless you prefer to sit as close to the TV as possible. No judgement over here.
