Here Are The Best Things Coming Before GTA VI

With GTA VI just over the horizon, there’s one aspect of internet culture set to disappear when it launches, and that’s the phrase “we got this before GTA VI.” If you haven’t seen this phrase mentioned in any comment section on any reels, clips, or videos, you’re probably living under a rock.

Any video that showcases humor, something unusual, or an impressive achievement always gets hit with the phrase. Even the randomness of it being mentioned without having any correlation to the subject matter sometimes hits the spot. Since it is close to the end of an era, even if people can say the same thing about GTA VII, here’s a playful list of things coming before GTA VI comes out on November 19, 2026.

The Big September for Gaming

Since gamers will most likely be devoured by GTA VI’s release in November, most studios and publishers will avoid that window and either release earlier or delay until 2027.

So, we have a massive list of anticipated games coming in September – which is the calm before the storm. Or in this case, the storm before the storm, because there’s a bunch:

• The Blood of Dawnwalker
• Marvel’s Wolverine
• Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV
• Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
• Control Resonant
• Silent Hill: Townfall
• Onimusha: Way of the Sword
• Minecraft Dungeons 2

A lot of these games are big hitters, either having a massive studio and publisher behind them or an established brand already. You rarely see several big games fighting against each other in a one-month window, but that’s the GTA VI effect for you – everyone wants to avoid this launch.

It also doesn’t help them that Rockstar had several delays on GTA VI, making it hard for other studios and publishers to schedule their launches.

Anime GTA VI: Ananta

With the GTA franchise being so influential on the industry, it isn’t surprising to see other studios build on it with a twist, and here we have Ananta, a GTA-inspired 3D urban open world but with an anime theme.

At the time of writing, Ananta has already accumulated over 17 million pre-registrations. That’s an enormous number. The game doesn’t have an official release date right now, but they were hoping for a Q2 2026 release, with rumors pushing that date to late Q3 2026. All signs point towards a release date before GTA VI, so it seems fitting to add it to this fun little list.

Big 1.0 Launches from Iconic Games

After over five years in early access, Valheim is finally ready to launch its full 1.0 release, called the Deep North, on September 9, 2026. Valheim has been an iconic survival-crafting game, generating millions of new players to a rising genre.

Palworld also just launched its 1.0 on July 10, bringing the popular creature-collecting hybrid game that mixes automation, survival-crafting, and unique battle systems all into one creative game.

Valheim isn’t the only massive survival-crafting game launching its 1.0. We also have Enshrouded leaving early access on October 15, 2026, which I would say is one of the few games that brought the genre to new heights for its extremely polished game design.

Charlie, penguinz0, Opening Another MTG Collector’s Booster, Maybe Finally Getting a Serialized Card

As someone who is into some TCGs like Magic: The Gathering, I’ve recently gotten into watching penguiz0, Charlie, open thousands of dollars’ worth of MTG Collector’s Booster Boxes every single day on his Skill Check YouTube channel.

From LOTR sets to Fallout sets, it has been a wild ride watching his journey to grabbing a serialized card. It has been a running joke in his community that he’ll eventually get a serialized with the amount of boxes he’s been opening, but it’ll be the serialized Hew the Entwood, who he absolutely despises.

Pokémon TCG’s 30th Celebration Set

Some could say that Pokémon could’ve been the catalyst for the video game industry skyrocketing in popularity. A lot of gamers grew up with Pokémon, and since the company never stopped pushing out games, merchandise, collaborations, TCGs, theme parks, and everything in between, it has been a powerhouse over the last three decades.

Now, we have the Pokémon brand celebrating its 30th anniversary even before GTA VI comes out. What’s crazy about this milestone is that GTA actually came out in 1997, just one year after Pokémon, and GTA only has six mainline titles.

LeBron James Making Another “The Decision”

While this isn’t completely related to gaming or gaming-adjacent topics, apart from NBA 2K, LeBron James, at age 41, is still making a “The Decision” for his new team. It is crazy to think that at this age, several teams still want a LeBron James on their championship team, but that’s a testament to how great he is still currently playing.

His decision is still causing a massive amount of noise; even the NBA is openly frustrated because they can’t finalize a schedule until LeBron signs with a team.

The Last World Cup Run for the Two Goats of Football

At the time of writing, the FIFA World Cup just concluded, and while it was a joy to watch, it is also sad we are seeing the last World Cup runs from a few timeless legends before GTA VI hits the shelves. The two big names are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, obviously. However, we also might see the last of Neymar Jr., Manuel Neuer, and Luka Modrić, too.

It is the end of an era, and we are all witnessing it before GTA VI arrives.
